Christian Louboutin: creating and delivering stunning retail environments for the glamorous luxury brand
Christian Louboutin, a famous French designer, founded his luxury brand in 1992 in Paris. Counting more than 135 boutiques around the world, the brand is synonymous with innovative and playful design, as well as the fine craftsmanship that defines its founder. The Louboutin team has frequently entrusted our retail team to express this recognisable identity through eye-catching window displays and engaging retail environments.
Firstly, building up the excitement with the launch of the glamorous Paloma bag, we designed a concept for Louboutin’s Motcomb Street store in partnership with the Paris-based Brand Identity team. In this project, we ensured the brand identity and values of Louboutin were properly conveyed.
We used 'peephole' elements associated with the marketing campaign and applied them to a blacked-out window backdrop, adding to the intrigue of the Paloma. When customers approached these peepholes, video screens, graphics and product were displayed, whilst the final peephole was a dynamic call to action encouraging customers to explore the store.
We were on hand to support the launch of Christian Louboutin's first ever luxury sneakers collection – ‘Run Loubi Run’ –at Unit London, Mayfair. We created a visually appealing experience for all attendees and presented Louboutin’s luxury runners in an impressive, attractive stage; with radio DJ and TV presenter, Maya Jama and actress Lily Travers in attendance.
To do so, we delivered a bespoke neon DJ booth, custom-made illuminated plinths, and a photo call backdrop – an environment that brought to life the unique identity of the brand and highlighted the technical prowess of the new sneaker styles.
After this successful campaign, as Christian Louboutin launched its collection “Optical Illusion”. Our team brought it to life for a special occasion – as we dressed the prestigious Dover Street store to celebrate their collaboration with artist, designer and film producer Philip Colbert.
Our team set the stage for a very successful launch of the collection, delivering fun and playful window and interior graphics along with a bespoke DJ booth and custom-made plinths to highlight the range.
Finally, Louboutin teamed up with us to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of their Amsterdam boutique opening. The boutique is hard to miss: located on Amsterdam's Pieter Corneliesz Hooftstraat, it is a canary-yellow façade with red canopies and decorations in rainbow colours. The shop is an ode to Louboutin's love for the colourful, the vivid, and the glamorous.
To commemorate this anniversary for an in-store event, we produced and installed a stunning cut vinyl featuring footprints, symbols characteristic of Louboutin´s iconography. This project marked the third time that we delivered these iconic footprint graphics, after featuring in Copenhagen and Dover Street in London.
